WoW Delves Guide: Tiers, Rewards, Valeera & Routes

Master Midnight Delves with tier rewards, Bountiful routes, Valeera role setup, Great Vault planning, recommended addons, and links to every route.

The Syndicate World of Warcraft Midnight Delves guide showing the eleven Season 1 delve routes
The Syndicate’s Midnight Delves command guide covers tiers, Bountiful rewards, Valeera, Great Vault planning, and every current route.

Current as of July 26, 2026: Midnight Season 1 is active. Blizzard has opened Tier 8+ seasonal Delves and currently lists ten standard Midnight Delves plus the Torment’s Rise Nemesis Delve. Reward levels, story variants, Bountiful rotations, and seasonal systems can change through hotfixes, so verify the Delver’s Guide before spending keys or planning a weekly route.

The quick answer

Delves are short, role-flexible adventures designed for solo players and small groups. The efficient Season 1 plan is not to clear everything at the highest tier immediately. It is to build a stable Valeera setup, learn one safe route at a time, use Restored Coffer Keys only on Bountiful Delves, and complete enough high-tier runs to maximize your Great Vault choices.

  • Start with the Delver’s Guide: check which Delves are Bountiful and which story variant is active.
  • Use Valeera to cover your weakness: Tank for fragile damage dealers, Healer for durable tanks or DPS, and Damage Dealer when your own survival is reliable.
  • Climb tiers deliberately: finish a tier cleanly before forcing the next one.
  • Protect Restored Coffer Keys: regular completions provide progress, but the Bountiful coffer is the key-dependent gear reward.
  • Build the weekly Vault: complete 2, 4, and 8 qualifying Delves; Tier 8 is the current maximum-reward target for the Delve row.
  • Run the detail guide first: every Delve below links to a dedicated route, objective, boss, addon, and preparation page.

What Midnight Delves are

Midnight expands Delves into ten standard locations and one seasonal Nemesis challenge. Blizzard’s official overview places them across Silvermoon City, Eversong Woods, Harandar, the Isle of Quel’Danas, Zul’Aman, and Voidstorm. Each Delve can rotate through different story variants, so the same entrance may not present the same objective sequence every time.

A Delve is usually a faster commitment than a dungeon or raid. It rewards route knowledge, target selection, defensive timing, and objective discipline. Because group composition is flexible, the same content can be used for solo progression, alt gearing, small-group practice, or a low-pressure guild activity.

Unlocking Delves and using the Delver HQ

  1. Progress through the Midnight campaign until the Delve introduction and Delver HQ systems are available.
  2. Visit the Delver HQ in Silvermoon and inspect the Delver’s Guide.
  3. Review the daily Bountiful markers and current story variants before traveling.
  4. Configure Valeera’s role and Curios before entering a difficult tier.
  5. Check Undercoin, Voidlight Marl, Journey, and seasonal reward vendors before spending currency.
  6. Carry repair funds, food, combat potions, health consumables, and class-specific utility.

The Delver’s Guide is the control center. Use it to see the current Bountiful rotation, story variants, and Delver’s Journey progress. Do not plan an entire evening around a route that is not currently Bountiful if your main objective is key-based gear.

Valeera setup: Tank, Healer, or Damage Dealer

Valeera Sanguinar is the Midnight Delve companion. She can be assigned as a Tank, Healer, or Damage Dealer and can equip one Combat Curio plus one Utility Curio. Higher-tier Delves improve the chance of finding stronger Curio ranks.

Your problemValeera roleHow to play around it
You die before completing a damage cycleTankLet Valeera establish threat, then attack marked targets and avoid pulling past her position.
You can survive but cannot recover between burstsHealerUse personals before emergency health, give Valeera time to stabilize you, and stop chain-pulling.
You are durable but kills take too longDamage DealerCoordinate interrupts and burst windows so both of you focus the same priority enemy.
Valeera pulls the wrong packAnyUse the ping system to place or direct her before combat; do not sprint into the next room while she is repositioning.

Companion choice is not a pride test. The best role is the one that removes the reason your run fails. Change Valeera before lowering the tier, then lower the tier only if the route remains unstable.

Tier and reward planning

The table below reflects the current Season 1 reward structure reported for Midnight. Treat it as a planning reference, not a permanent promise; Blizzard can change item levels or upgrade tracks through hotfixes.

TierBountiful cofferTrovehunter’s BountyGreat Vault
1220 Adventurer 1/6233 Veteran 1/6
2224 Adventurer 2/6237 Veteran 2/6
3227 Adventurer 3/6240 Veteran 3/6
4230 Adventurer 4/6237 Veteran 2/6243 Veteran 4/6
5233 Veteran 1/6243 Veteran 4/6246 Champion 1/6
6237 Veteran 2/8246 Champion 1/6253 Champion 3/6
7246 Champion 1/6250 Champion 2/6256 Champion 4/6
8–11250 Champion 2/6259 Hero 1/6259 Hero 1/6

Practical target: once Tier 8 is consistent, increasing the tier is primarily for challenge, achievements, Journey progression, and special seasonal rewards rather than a higher standard Delve-row Vault item.

Bountiful Delves and Restored Coffer Keys

Bountiful Delves rotate. Their end coffer requires a Restored Coffer Key for the main gear reward. The disciplined approach is:

  1. Open the Delver’s Guide and identify today’s Bountiful options.
  2. Choose the route you know best rather than the one closest on the map.
  3. Run it at the highest tier you can finish reliably without repeated deaths.
  4. Open the Bountiful coffer only when the reward tier is worth the key for your character.
  5. Record the result and stop spending keys if the remaining routes are poor fits for your build.

During the introduction, check for the one-time Delver’s Starter Kit. Current reporting indicates it grants enough Coffer Key Shards for two Restored Coffer Keys above the normal weekly cap. Verify the item is still available to your Warband before choosing the receiving character.

Great Vault route: 2, 4, and 8 Delves

The Delve row unlocks choices after 2, 4, and 8 qualifying completions. A reliable weekly sequence is:

  1. First two: use your safest Bountiful routes to secure the first choice.
  2. Next two: repeat proven routes or add one new route at the same tier.
  3. Final four: finish at Tier 8 when possible so all three choices are built from the maximum current Delve reward tier.
  4. Before reset: verify the completed tier shown in the Great Vault interface; do not assume a lower-tier run upgraded the row.

For a newly geared character, eight clean Tier 7 runs can be more valuable than wiping repeatedly at Tier 8. Move to Tier 8 when the weekly route is repeatable, not when one lucky clear barely succeeds.

A-to-Z route method for every Delve

  1. Read the active story variant. The objective order may differ from your previous run.
  2. Set Valeera’s role. Fix the failure condition before entering.
  3. Mark one interrupt target. A clean priority system is better than reacting to every cast.
  4. Pull backward. Create space behind the group so patrols and objective enemies do not join unexpectedly.
  5. Complete side objectives before advancing. Backtracking through respawned or reset areas wastes time and consumables.
  6. Use defensives early. A defensive used at 80% health prevents a death; one used at 5% may not.
  7. Reset between packs. Let cooldowns, health, resources, and Valeera stabilize.
  8. Save burst for the boss or mandatory elite. Do not spend every cooldown on an avoidable trash pull.
  9. Loot deliberately. Check Curios, treasures, and seasonal currency before leaving.
  10. Record the route. Note the tier, story variant, deaths, and specific cast that caused trouble.

Recommended addons and setup

AddonUse in DelvesBasic setup
WeakAurasTrack personal defensives, interrupts, class resources, and Valeera-related reminders.Use a small class package near the center of the screen; avoid importing raid-sized packages that obscure ground effects.
PlaterMakes priority casts, enrages, and dangerous enemies easier to identify.Enable cast colors and scale important enemy nameplates larger than trivial enemies.
GTFOProvides an audible warning when standing in avoidable ground damage.Keep the alerts enabled but lower the volume enough that cast and voice cues remain clear.
Details!Reviews damage taken, deaths, interrupts, dispels, and time spent on targets.Create a Delve profile with Damage Done, Damage Taken, Deaths, and Interrupts windows.
TomTom or HandyNotesHelps locate entrances and remember outdoor travel routes.Save the entrance waypoint from the dedicated Delve page, then remove obsolete pins after arrival.
DBM or BigWigsUseful when the current module supports a boss or event timer.Use timers as assistance, not as a substitute for reading the boss and active story variant.

Role-specific preparation

DPS

  • Bring an interrupt, stun, dispel, or crowd-control option even if it costs a small amount of theoretical damage.
  • Use a defensive before scripted burst and health consumables before the next hit becomes lethal.
  • Focus Valeera’s target; split damage prolongs the dangerous part of a pull.

Tank

  • Set Valeera to Healer or Damage Dealer according to whether survival or speed is the problem.
  • Pull around defensive cooldowns instead of treating every pack as identical.
  • Use line of sight to stack ranged enemies and avoid dragging packs into objectives or patrols.

Healer

  • Set Valeera to Tank when threat control is the limiting factor.
  • Contribute damage during stable windows, but preserve instant healing for scripted spikes.
  • Track dispels and interruptible casts; prevention is more efficient than recovering afterward.

1Check the Delver’s Guide and select the safest Bountiful route.Protects keys and reduces wasted travel.
2Complete two high-tier runs.Unlocks the first Great Vault choice quickly.
3Complete two more routes while testing one alternate story variant.Unlocks the second choice and broadens route knowledge.
4Finish four additional Tier 8 runs if the character is ready.Completes the maximum Delve-row Vault plan.
5Run the Delves Bonus Event quest when active.Current bonus events increase Journey, Valeera experience, and Undercoin gains and may award Champion-track gear.
6Attempt Torment’s Rise only after the weekly Vault is secured.Prevents the Nemesis challenge from consuming the time needed for dependable progression.

Common Delve mistakes

  • Spending Restored Coffer Keys on a tier that is already below your useful upgrade range.
  • Keeping Valeera in Damage Dealer mode while repeated deaths show that survival is the problem.
  • Pulling the next group before Valeera, resources, or defensive cooldowns are ready.
  • Ignoring the active story variant and following a route from a different objective set.
  • Using every major cooldown on trash and entering the boss with nothing available.
  • Chasing Tier 9–11 before establishing eight reliable Tier 8 completions.
  • Leaving without checking Curios, treasures, seasonal currency, or Delver’s Journey progress.

Frequently asked questions

What tier should a new level-90 character run?

Start at the highest tier you can finish without repeated deaths. Increase one tier at a time. Your first objective is a repeatable route and useful Great Vault progress, not the highest number displayed at the entrance.

Should Valeera always be a healer?

No. Use Tank when threat or incoming damage is the problem, Healer when recovery is the problem, and Damage Dealer when survival is already stable.

Do I need a Restored Coffer Key for every Delve?

No. Keys are used for the main reward coffer at the end of a Bountiful Delve. Regular Delves can still provide progression, story completion, Curios, and practice.

What tier gives the maximum Delve Great Vault reward?

Under the current Season 1 structure, Tier 8 provides the maximum Delve-row Great Vault reward. Higher tiers remain relevant for challenge and other seasonal objectives.

How many Delves unlock all three Vault choices?

The Delve row uses 2, 4, and 8 qualifying completions. Check the live Great Vault interface before reset in case Blizzard changes the requirement.
